Driving & Parking

Driving in Dublin isn’t actually that stressful. Just avoid the rush hour traffic between 07:00-09:00 and 16:00-19:00, Monday to Friday. The Inner Orbital Route may sound like something from a science fiction chronicle, but it is, in fact, part of Dublin’s traffic system. It allows you to make your way through the city centre, while avoiding the heaviest traffic in the core of the city. This is ideal if you want to park close to the shops. If you wish to avoid most of the city traffic, consider using the Outer Orbital Route-another galactic-sounding road network, which roughly encircles the city centre. It’s ideal for crossing Dublin. Finally, should you wish to avoid the city altogether, consider using the M50 Motorway, Dublin Port Tunnel, or East Link Road Bridge.
