Leith Walk, Edinburgh

Leith Walk is a long street joining central Edinburgh and the Port of Leith. It’s a largely residential area. But the Walk itself is always busy.

On the old boundary between “Leith” and “Edinburgh” is the City Limits Pub. Many years ago, local laws meant that the two sides of the bar closed at different times. When the Leith side shut, the locals would change sides to continue buying beer!

Though they used to haul goods up the hill by horse, there are now regular buses to the old town. Phew!
