If you want a place with history and tradition then Istanbul is a great city break destination. If it’s the latter you are after then go and see the wooden houses, mosques and the Topkapi Palace. The city is steeped in history and you'll have real fun discovering it. Before going back to your Istanbul apartment you can also go and relax in one of the Turkish baths (hammams) - a genuine holiday treat! Istanbul is a great place to come if you like to a bit of bargain hunting (and what girl doesn’t?) as there is a myriad of interesting gifts and souvenirs to be found in the local markets. You'll want to get something for all your friends back home, but don't forget to get something for yourself too! It's nice to have a little Turkish keepsake from your short break in Istanbul.
