When you arrive at this apartment, you’ll feel a bit like Amélie. Ok, so maybe you’re not a gamine French girl. But the quaint Montmartre street and the leafy entrance remind us of the movie character. And this is, after all, her area. The interior is peaceful and perhaps a little modern for Amélie’s tastes – but we certainly like it.
Make like Amélie and explore the hilltop hood of Montmarte, home to artists’ ateliers, theatres (including the mythical Moulin Rouge), specialty shops and oodles of period charm.
The Montmartrois say they wouldn’t live anywhere else, and neither may you after ambling through the fascinating 18th. Climb to the Sacré-Coeur for breathtaking views, stopping off on the way for a portrait at place du Tertre. Or join the nighthawks in the bars and clubs on lower ground.
