The location of this apartment is excellent. You’ll find yourself spending more than a couple of hours walking up and down Montorgueil exploring the wine, cheese and dessert shops (the list goes on). For dining, there are great restaurants nearby but the kitchen is also well equipped – convenient when you wake up at 6 a.m. hungry from jetlag.
Cashed up and cultured – La Bourse buzzes. Belle époque buildings abound in the 2nd, home to home to the old stock exchange, bank headquarters, historic old music halls and the famous Café de la Paix.
The liberty-loving Marianne –the symbol of France – reigns over the Place de la République, but it’s money that talks here. At lunchtime bistros ring loud with the banter of bankers, and the garment district takes up a sizable swathe, where traders hawk haute couture to the whole of Europe.
