Porta Maggiore, Rome

Porta Maggiore, south of Termini station, is a tranquil area. You’ll be welcomed here by the old Roman city gate.

Tranquil it may be, but you won’t lack for good places to eat in the area. There are loads of restaurants. After a good meal, take a walk to the basilica of Santa Croce en Gerusalemme with its famed passion relics, or hop on the metro to Rome's historical core, with the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps.
