"Great location, very nice apartment, but very poorly managed. Arrival. I e-mailed Cathelijne a day before, gave our flight arrival time and my estimate that we should be there at 17:30. She said that Lex will meet us there. My estimate happened to be dead on - our taxi pulled up at 17:28. Walked to the entrance, there are 5 buzzers on the door, no markings. Tried all of them - no response. Tried calling Cathelijne - no response and no answer machine either. A neigbour heard us, came out, tried to call Cathelijne - same result. 20 min later Lex showed up with no apologies of being late. We asked him when Cathelijne told him to be there, his answer - 18:00! So he was 10 min early! While waiting one of the renters from the same building came home, told us he hat to wait for 40 min on his check-in. Given how often it rains in Amsterdam, we were not looking forward to get all our luggage wet. Apartment itself. The listing says there are 4 bedrooms with 2 double beds and 2 single beds. This is not true! there is one bedroom on the lower level with a double bed. On the upper level there are 3 bedrooms: one bedroom with a single bed one bedroom with two single beds that were combined to form a double one bedroom with a baby crib. So unless you have a little baby that you want to put into a separate room, there is neither a forth bedroom, nor a second single bed as in the listing. It looks like nobody really lived in the apartment for a long time, so the place has a lot of strange renovations: - on the lower level there is a toilet, but no sink, so to wash you hands one has to go to a different floor. - lower level double bedroom has no closet. At all! There was a closet at some point, but they put washer/dryer inside. - upper level double bedroom does not have any closet space as well. the only place to put hangers in the whole apartment is in the small bedroom with the single bed. - shower has no door. Not because it is broken, but because it is not there by design. Not sure what the idea was, but yes, a lot of water end up on the floor. - no shelves in the shower for your shampoos and soaps. Or, and no shampoos and soaps in the whole place at all. - there was one (ONE) extra garbage bag left for us under the sink. For 5 people staying for 10 days. And one (ONE) extra roll of toilet paper. I understand the idea of spending as little as possible on tourists, but couple extra bags wouldn't kill anybody's wallet, right? Sending tourist to hunt for these looks a bit strange. "

"apartment very spacious and comfortable, fully equipped, in accordance with the descriptions of the site. many exchanges with the host by mail before the arrival, it is very available to answer the questions, which is reassuring! In addition she inquired from us on the composition of the members of our group, to properly prepare rooms. (there are 3 bedrooms + 1 baby room) so we all had our room with double bed for couples. (We were two couples of friends + 1 ages of 25 to 30 years and we spent a week in the apartment). apartment located in a quiet area, close to the station and very well located in Amsterdam. In short super stay, nothing wrong, Amsterdam has conquered us!"

"appartement très spacieux et confortable, tout équipé, conforme aux descriptions du site. beaucoup d échange avec l'hôte par mail avant l'arrivée, elle est très disponible pour répondre aux questions, ce qui est rassurant! de plus elle s'est renseignée auprès de nous sur la composition des membres de notre groupe, pour bien préparer les chambres. (il y a 3 chambres + 1 chambre de bébé) donc nous avons tous eu notre chambre, avec lit double pour les couples.( Nous étions deux couples d'amis+1 agés de 25 a 30ans et nous avons passé une semaine dans l'appartement). appartement situé dans un quartier calme, proche de la gare et très bien situé dans Amsterdam. En bref super séjour, rien à redire, Amsterdam nous a conquis !"

"Good neighbourhood for places to eat & reasonably quiet, central for everything. The apartment was ok- needed some crockery replacing, more dishwasher tablets & a welcome pack of essentials. It's not cheap so a few extras would make it seem worth the extra charge. Some of the soft furniture needed cleaning. "

"We loved the apartment, location, Metro half a block away. Everything worked, the appliances were all Seiman and high end including the washer and dryer. The only downside was the stairs, two flights up to enter apartment. It got old after a few days! The apartment is just as pictured if not better! Catherine, our host was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend this for two couples traveling together as each double bed are on different floors. We stayed for a month and really enjoyed the neighborhood, quiet but only two blocks from Nieuwmarkt where de Waag is located in the square with an open air small market on weekdays and different and larger on weekends. All your needs are within a few block walking distance including Waterlooplein and it's famous market. Lots of cafes and very good restaurants close by. Great location, great apartment!"
