History of Anne Frank and hidden courtyards
The Jordaan is an interesting mix of traditional Jordaanese elderly people and young families.
On the border of the area you’ll find the Anne Frank house. This is the place where Jewish girl Anne Frank hide with her family and four other Jewish persons from the Nazis during World War II.
Other sights in this area are the impressive churches Westerkerk and Noorderkerk.
And discover the hidden courtyards. They are situated behind the houses. Some are closed to the public, and only opened on special days. But if the gates of a courtyard are unlocked, many residents won't mind if you have a peek.
