In many parts of Amsterdam you can only park your car in official parking garages, especially in the canal ring. Do you want to park your car at the street? Look for the blue light box with P, find a free parking spot and then go to the parking meter to pay in advance. Please note that the parking meters don’t accept cash or coins anymore. You must pay with a Dutch pin or chip card or credit card.
A lot of visitors choose to park their car outside Amsterdam at the P+R location. Parking in a P+R car park costs around € 8 per 24 hours - with a maximum parking time of 96 hours. For this price you also get free public transport to the centre of Amsterdam for a maximum of five people.
