The network of local transport in Berlin consists of 1703 kilometres of bus lines. That’s quite a lot. You definitely wouldn’t want to even attempt 5% of it on foot. Not on holiday anyway. Just as well then that the buses are efficient and save you loads of legwork. The 7 MetroBus lines run 24 hours a day. It doesn’t stop there. There are another 196 bus lines, including 65 which run every 30 minutes throughout the night. All in all it’s a pretty efficient service, and if you’re a bit of a night owl you can rely on the bus for getting home when the metro is closed.
The majority of the buses in Berlin also display the stops, a handy feature if you don’t speak German or the bus is empty!
