Buses here tend not to run as frequently as the metro, and bus tickets are cheaper if bought before getting on the bus at newsagents, supermarkets or the metro station. So why not just take the metro you ask?!
Well, buses offer a great chance to see the city. And they also cover routes that you can’t access by other forms of public transport, including 11 night routes on Friday and Saturday from midnight until 03.00. A cheaper way to get home than by taxi after a night on the town.
Most lines depart from the Stock Exchange (Bourse/Beurs). Stops are marked with a red and white sign, distinctive enough to be recognized even at midnight.
