The bus is arguably a better way to get around Budapest than the metro. Ok, it may not get you from A-to-B quite as quickly (especially during rush hour), but anyone wanting to discover a new city needs to be on the lookout for new points of interest. The bus is perfect for this. You don’t have to worry about the traffic or alien road systems, just sit back and enjoy the ride. Who knows what you might discover. It’s a great way to get your bearings as well. As you travel from a-to-b you’ll get a feel for the city and be able to suss out where everything is in relation to the city’s major landmarks. When you’re on the bus, look out for restaurants and bars and keep a mental note of them for later in your stay. Write your own guidebook!
