"Firstly, this property should receive higher reviews, but we were very, very unfortunately to book the ground floor apartment of this converted barn and can I strongly recommend you do not make the same mistake. The barn complex has been converted into about 5 seperate units with 2 of these situated directly above the ground floor unit. We had checked the reviews which mentioned the noise sounded like people moving furniture all day and night from above, but I thought it was just people complaining about every little noise so we went on with the booking. Can I say, they were right on every account. Even on checking in we heard the noises with the manager who was quick to mention these people were moving out in 2 days time, but even then, the other family appeared to be playing furniture bowling all night until after 11pm directly above our heads. Not only that, you could hear absolutely every word they said through the very thin ceiling. Now the unit itself is advertised as sleeping 6, which in reality it can do. The lounge on entry has a sofa bed and kitchen/dining area and the single bathroom extends from this. Down a short corridor leads to another single bedroom to your right, then a left turn takes you through another bedroom with 2 single beds, but you have to walk through this bedroom to get to the master double bedroom. It is not suitable at all for more than 2 adults, but if you had 4 kids, it could work. The complex is quite a way from anything which was no concern for us as we had a car, but without transport you would be very isolated. We had major issues with the gas on our last night, but a quick phone call to the manager Giovanni and both he and his brother arrived in under 10 minutes. Giovanni and his brother are the highlight of the property, doing whatever they could to make our stay comfortable, unfortunately the ground floor apartment let them down. The other downside is the property was listed as having a microwave which it didn't, until Giovanni brought one when our gas ran out, it also showed having a washing machine, which it doesn't, you either pay Giovanni to wash your clothes of make a trip into Sieci to do it at a laundromat. If you do not remove your own general waste, you pay a €20 fee which was not advertised and you also get billed for any gas that you use, also not advertised but waived in our instance due to the issues we had with our gas/hot water on the final night. I hate to mention so many negative points as Giovanni did everything within his control to make our stay enjoyable, even giving us access to one of the noisy upstairs apartments to shower as we had no hot water, but again, it was the ground floor apartment which let this place down."
“Hello and thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your stay. We have liaised with the owner and are aware of the possible noise issues and had hoped that this had been made clear to you before your arrival. The properties secluded feel is something we feel is a positive as many guests are looking for tranquility. It does not necessarily mean that a car is essential however, as Sieci is only a short walk and there you can find good public transport links. The owner has assured us that all heating and shower issues are now fixed. We are glad that the owner was of assistance to you and hope that despite some issues you still had an enjoyable holiday and will book with us again. ”
"Goede ontvangst, prachtige omgeving, heerlijk uitzicht, mooi appartement, dichtbij Florence.
