Plaka
At the shadow of the Acropolis is located Plaka, the most picturesque and oldest district of Athens, which was continuously inhabited from antiquity to the present day. The neighborhood of gods, as it was called, resembles a journey to old Athens with antiquities, historical buildings and Byzantine churches. Unique in every sense is the typical Cycladic neighborhood od Anafiotika, which was built by craftsmen and workers from the island of Anafi when they arrived in Athens after the liberation. The tiny whitewashed houses among the rocks, the gardens with the flowers, the narrow alleys and the mazy planning is similar only to the one found in Cycladic islands.
Kolonaki
Kolonaki, the aristocratic district of the centre, was, is and will be the first choice for any "bon viveur", but also a really lively source of culture and quality entertainment. Traditionally it was considered the area of the elite, however today that is not true since Kolonaki, without losing its aristocratic aura, is an area open to all and ideal for all tastes. Historically, it took its name from the small pillars that the Turks have placed in the area to conform the Christians. The area has cafes, bars and clubs, chic boutiques and famous fashion houses, galleries and museums, all guaranteeing that will have a great time. The area is the favorite of politicians and artists and is close to Lycabetus and Syntagma square.

Koukaki
Koukaki is between two museums, the New Museum of the Acropolis and the National Museum of Contemporary Art and it combines the centre of Athens with the atmosphere of a neighborhood. Very close to Syntagma, it starts from under the sacred rock of the Acropolis and continues with very tall buildings, alleys and pedestrian streets and their bars have become great attractions. The National Museum of Contemporary Art and the tram lines are the natural border with Neos Kosmos, a district with a long history.
Pangrati
The old urban neighborhood with the cosmopolitan air of another era of flourishing and renaissance. The squares of Varnavas, Messolongiou and Proskopon are the centres of the area. Nearby Mets, which owes its name to the beer house of Karolos Fix, is characterized by beautiful preserved buildings, the grove, the steps and the amphitheatric view of Athens, which make it one of the most beautiful neighborhoods.
Neos Kosmos
Neos Kosmos, like Koukaki, is between two museums, the New Museum of the Acropolis and the National Museum of Contemporary Art and it combines the centre of Athens with the atmosphere of a neighborhood. Very close to Syntagma, it starts from under the sacred rock of the Acropolis and continues with very tall buildings, alleys and pedestrian streets that their bars have become great attractions.
