There are not one but six major train stations in Paris. Of these six Gare du Nord is the principal station and one of the busiest in the world. Found in the 10th arrondissment, it runs national and international trains, including the Eurostar. Also in the area is Gare de l’Est and is a hub for Central European destinations.
The Gare Saint Lazare in the 8th arrondissement, has arrivals from Normandy and England.
Gare de Lyon and Gare d’Austerlitz in the 12th arrondissement serve Spain, Italy and Southern France. For Western France go to Gare Montparnasse in the 14th arrondissement. In addition to the train stations, there are also two major bus terminals in Paris. Gallieni in the east and La Défense in the west serve international Eurolines to Paris.
