The leafy residential district of Monteverde is just outside the Aurelian walls, and is home to the 17th century Villa Doria Pamphili, with the biggest landscaped park in Rome.
If you’re taking the car, then this area is ideal as it’s outside of the restricted ZTL traffic zone. Just hop on the metro from here to get to the centre.
Monteverde is divided into two parts: Monteverde Vecchio, with its majestic 19th century villas, and Monteverde Nuovo, scattered with houses built in the 20th century.
