Seville is known for its Semana Santa, or Holy Week over Easter. In the city you´ll see fascinating religious parades, throngs of people and whole families getting together in the city's bars and squares. This has been Seville's most important celebration for centuries.
Similarly in the springtime, Seville's Fería de Abril takes place. Traditional and typically romantic, casetas for socialising are set up all over the city. You can expect to see horse parades, Andalusian shows and flamenco dancing until the early hours of the morning.
The Flamenco Biennial Festival de Sevilla is a celebration of flamenco that’s been going since 1980 and is held every two years in the city. The Festival always draws the most respected flamenco musicians and dancers, as well as the promise of the talent of the future.
